Here are a couple of photo's of my Fuzzy Claw Macro

These shrimp are very peaceful, I have several males in the same tank and I have not seen any aggression just a little claw waving.

They are very interesting to watch. They have a totaly different behavior than Dwarf shrimp do.

If you are looking for a larger shrimp species that will not tear each other to shreads, these are the shrimp.

And of course, they came from Mustafa.

Great pictures Newjohn! This species is #1 on my wish list.

If you don't mind my asking, how big is the tank, and how many Fuzzy Claw shrimp do you have in it?

Hi pixl8r

I have 13 housed in a 15gal / 56l tank.
They will be divided into 2 different tanks to give them a little more room.

It helps that I have 3 large leaf Anubia Plants in the tank with them.
I have counted 5 shrimp in one plant. They each claim a leaf.

That's very similar to how juvenile m. dayanum act. The adult shrimp are not nearly as vertically mobile (they tend to stay on the bottom).

No, there are no young.

I hope I will see a few berried females any time.

So, and I realize this is probably a stupid question, but what kind of population density are you going for after the split? My husband bought me a new tank

and now that I'm done shuffling, am looking for new inhabitants for my old 10 gal, and was thinking of these guys...

It will depend on how many females I have. I would like to have 1 Trio per 15gal tank. That should give everyone enough room.

It is Play sand that is sifted through a paint straining net.

Very labor intensive

I hear you there...I once spent 6 hours rinsing sand for one of my tanks...

Not fun at all...
