I have a newly berried cherry that has three green eggs and four white eggs. Has anyone noticed this before with their cherries? I have not seen this before it looks really cool. I have tried to get some photos, but no luck so far.

I've seen various colors, but never mixed.

Me too. I have females that have light green eggs, some have a darker green, and some have white eggs. I have never seen one of my shrimp have eggs that were two different colors. The female in question is one of my females that was born in this tank.

A true breeding strain of RCS should have Yellow eggs.

I have never seen White Eggs that have hatched.

If you have this many different colored eggs, I would have to say that your RCS are not a true breeding RCS.
They may have been house with another Neocaridina species.

It may have been that the eggs were fertilized by more than one male Let us know how they develop and if they change colors along the way

It is possible. It would have been years back, the person I bought them from bought hers several years ago. They all throw amazing colors so I am not too worried about it. Perhaps my whites are yellow, I have seen them hatch! I have culled one female shrimp that just was not as bright as the other females.

Hi,
New here, first post.
I have had RCS for about a month and a half now. I gathered them from three different sources. I have observed dark green, light green, yellow and orange eggs. Should I assume from the above quote that I have a range of breeding qualitiy CRS or a bunch of mutts?

The is not different qualities / grades of RCS " Red Cherry Shrimp
Either you have true breeding RCS or you do not.

Almost all of the RCS in the US are not True Breeding.
Unless you purchased them from Mustafa, your chance of getting true breeding RCS is very low.

A True Breeding Color Morph
Will always have the same colored eggs,

So , Yes you have a bunch of " Mutts "

You can always, selectively breed your RCS.
And in a few years, your females will more than likely only carry Yellow Eggs.

For a example of true Color Morphs.

SnowBall Shrimp
Always have White eggs

So shrimp that are selectively bred to be different colors could cause different colored eggs? But wild males will put you back to the starting point of selective breeding. Is that what i'm understanding here?
