A few basic questions

Post by Zaky9 »

:smt006
I have a planted 29 gallon aquarium, and I'm completely new to crayfish. I am curious if I could put any sort of crayfish(preferably a dwarf cray) in there. There are some fish in there: 3 Angelfish, 6 Neon tetras, and 2 Oto catfish. Would a dwarf crayfish eat the plants/fish in the tank? Not looking to breed, just 1 crayfish in the tank.
Thanks for any input!

Well Crayfish and Lobsters quiet often you can't tell the part. Like the Red Lobsters is a crayfish. But iv got a Blue lobster in my community tank with at least 40 other smaller sized fish. He's been in there for 3 weeks and has only killed 1 Neon tetra. So I'm sure your Angelfish will be fine and for sure your plants. Its mainly bottom feeders that he will try and attack. Crayfish and Lobsters aren't fast at all, at the very most at least for a while some of your fish will have a nip or 2 on there back fins.
