The shrimp offered on this website are all shrimp that have been bred by me. None of them are imports or wild caught, which means they are free of any disease, parasites or pathogens that wild animals tend to carry.  Also, all animals that I sell are juveniles of about 1/4 - 1/2 inch and up (0.5-1.3 cm and up). You may get bigger shrimp, but the minimum size will be 1/4 inch (0.5-0.7 cm). You will not be getting any old shrimp that will die of old age a month after you bought them.  Since I breed these shrimp I can guarantee that you will get young shrimp.  In contrast, nobody knows how old imported or wild-caught shrimp are. With good feeding these shrimp will reach sexual maturity within a month or two. Please do not buy these shrimp if you have fish in your tanks that might eat them or if your filter intake is large enough to suck these shrimp in! Also, keep in mind that these shrimp need a fully *cycled* tank with no ammonia or nitrite readings whatsoever!

There is a minimum order for the shrimp I sell, since these shrimp only do well if they live with many others of the same species. With a group of animals, chances are that you will end up with both females and males.  It is somewhat hard to tell the sex in young shrimp.  I also want these shrimp to spread in the hobby, so selling a minimum number of animals per species makes sure that you will be getting males and females. The more shrimp, the better the chances. Plus, of course, it makes no financial sense for me to spend the time packaging one or two shrimp.

Keep in mind that shrimp won't reach full coloration until they are fully grown and sexually mature. Rest assured though that they will be looking like the shrimp in the pictures you see on this website once they reach sexual maturity, provided that they are kept under the right conditions. Many shrimp species are quite variable in coloration, however, and no two individuals will look exactly the same in most species.

ALL the pictures of the shrimp that I am selling here are *actual* pictures of some of the parents and grandparents of the young shrimp you will be getting.  No pictures are doctored or "enhanced" to make the animals look better. This way, you know *exactly* what the young shrimp you are getting will look like once they are adults. .

Shipping and Live Arrival Guarantee

Shipping will be through Priority Mail and will be a flat $14.95 for *all* orders regardless of size! It does not matter if you order 10 or 200 animals.  I only ship to the continental United States and do not take international orders. My shrimp are expertly packaged and sent in insulated shipping boxes with tight fitting lids. The shipping also includes a heat pack in the colder months of the year.I am providing the best LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE you will find anywhere .  If you provide me with a picture of the dead shrimp right after arrival (same day) I will refund you the cost of the shrimp. This is a *real* guarantee and none of those "you will get store credit if you order more shrimp and pay shipping" kind of useless deals. If for some odd reason (e.g. carrier messes up) all the shrimp arrive dead, I will either replace your shrimp for no additional shipping or refund all of your money (including shipping costs). You really have nothing to lose and can buy with confidence.

IMPORTANT: Shipping days are Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.  I might ship some orders out on Wednesday depending on how close you live to San Diego.  NO LOCAL PICK UPS! I will ship promptly at the earliest shipping date after you order.  You will get a shipping confirmation per email when your order has been shipped.

Credit Cards Accepted!

All Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) are welcome. You do not need a PayPal account to pay with a credit card. Just add your items in the shopping cart, check out and choose the credit card option by clicking the "Continue" button in the box where it says "Don't have a PayPal account?" Make sure that you fill in both the billing address for your credit card AND the shipping address. If the shipping address is not filled in we won't have an address for you on file to which to send your order. All transactions are absolutely secure and encrypted.

Please keep in mind that you cannot use this option if you already have a PayPal account and the credit card you are using to purchase items from Petshrimp.com is connected to that PayPal account. In that case you must use your PayPal account or use a different credit card.
