I did see 2 babies yesterday- one is a juvie- however, I feel ...

the tank is a 20 high with several plants, including a fairly large clump of java moss, which they love-I also have a hob filter, sponge filter, and a powerhead- the shrimp can get out of the current if they want,as there is also driftwood and a few rocks. Also, something I found by accident that sh...

I just checked the TH with a test strip hardness is 250, ph 6.8, alkalinity between 0 and 40 ppm I have been putting tapwater in an open container, treating with Amquel and muriatic acid, and leaving it sit for a few days, then add to the tank. I think the hardness is high- I have a CRS tank, and th...

I had 2 rocks in the tank- they are lace rock - no problems with it in my other tanks - however, I took it out and put a drop of muriatic acid on it. It fizzed a little bit, so the rocks came out of the tank. I have just got a Hanna TDS 1 meter, but am not sure yet how to use it. SO now the rocks ar...

help! in my tiger tank, the ph is 7.8-- I wanted to lower that, so I put in some Laguna peat granules(in a mesh bag)- still no change after one week. Tigers are dying here and there- 2 days ago I tried muriatic acid, and voila! Ph down to 6.8! Approx 4 hrs later, ph straight back up to 7.8 ! ! Yeste...

powerheads in shrimp tanks
From my experience with fish, powerheads are excellent to move and oxygenate water, and move debris that lies on the substrate. SO I have recently added these to my shrimp tanks, attached to hydro sponge filters. I also use HOB filters and air driven hydro sponge filters. There is a moderate amount ...

blue buddha- hybrid or pure?
Is the blue buddha an actual pure sub species, or is it perhaps a hybridized cross from the tiger? Also, is it acceptable to put the tiger and the blue buddha together in a tank? I am quite sure they may breed, but is that what the blue buddha is in the first place? (I don't know if it is proper to ...
