I no longer use carbon in any of my aquariums and I have 150 of them. I do however have a large carbon and sediment filter on my house which makes it fish ready without adding anything to water. I use good old fashion water changes to get rid of anything in tanks.

I remember when the only time I brought ghost shrimp home was to feed my fish. Now I feed some fish to my shrimp.

A 6.6 gallon tank is not that big. Otocinclus stay on the glass as well as the bottom so they may do okay. One way to find out. I have never kept my cajuns with ottos before so I do not know. Plus any time I keep something with my cajuns it is in a 10 gallon tank or larger. I do not notice any fin n...

I have never noticed my cajuns doing this in my tanks. But the only shrimp I keep with them is cherry and they eat side by side at the dinner table peacefully. In the 125 gallon I take care of the corys were just fine before for A period of 6 months or so. It was last month that I noticed fins were ...

That 20 gallon sounds pretty nice. If you were underfeeding you would see it in the albino cories first. Sounds like your doing a good job. I gave some of these to a friend who had a 10 gallon tank. I told him these would be perfect tankmates for his fish. Well when I went over to his house one time...

More food does make a dirrerence but that goes hand in hand with more water changes. The more you feed the faster the water fowls and hence the more water changes you do.

I would only keep 3 adults in a tank this size. And bottom feeders such as corys and plecos do not do good with these crays unless the crays are fed really well. You will know this by how many chunks are taken out of the fins of the catfish.

Do these crays breed good in that set up. I know my cajuns would fill up a 75 gallon tank if given the chance.

I think all water creatures release these phermones that stunt growth. You really notice it on shrimp and fish that you cram together. The phermones are specie specific. They will only affect the specie that is releasing it. For example 100 convict cichlids crammed in a 20 tall will be stunted unless...

I am glad I could be of help. Snails are poop machines. Espescially apple snails. They like to chew on sponge filters if they do not get enough food and as soon as they do that the mess really starts. Most of my tanks are bare bottom. And I do not like the way the crap looks like on the bottom so I ...
