Oh well!

Do have at least 3 babies from last week (all that I've seen at one time together-might be more hiding in the Java Moss), plus do have another female all berried up:

Color in Shell or Body?

OK, a newbie question! Have Red Cherry Shrimp. Couple times have noticed what appears to be a thin red "thing"; looks like it could be a shrimp shell thats unfolded. Have seen white molted shells before, almost look like shrimp. Could these be the molted shells from females? Nothing in the...

Probably hiding in the java moss; saw 3 just now and 14 of the 22 adults.

Things hide good!

Brood size

Brood size? Or is it litter size? Anyway, one of the two RCS with eggs dropped must have had them hatch (they hide well, so both may be hiding), but am seeing little tiny shrimpies; one or two at a time. How many normally survive from a hatch? Looks to be 40-50 eggs on the shrimpies, so I would expe...

Amen to that!

I'm thrilled that I got the tank in good enough condition for my shrimp and snails to feel comfortable enough to breed; makes one feel good that you're doing something right!

That they are!

What I'm going to do with baby shrimpies and snails I haven't figured out yet; will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Do have a few feelers out to fellow fish people...

Observations from my tank; started out with 10 RCS, were zooming around like crazy first 2-3 days, then settled down, munching on the "stuff" in the plants and substrate. Female with eggs didn't swim around much, just stayed fanning the eggs and eating. Got 10 more 4 days ago, and the tank...

Newbie!

Howdy all! Just got into Shrimpies about 3 weeks ago; got 20 (ish) RCSin a 10 gal tank with 2 Mystery Snails. All doing good, one of the females dropped eggs a week ago, and I noticed another with eggs last night: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/artbitt/fish/eggs1.jpg Snails have been busy a...
