Hi Paul,

thank you, but as this is a fixed focal length lens it is not really what I'm looking for.

Hi,

please do not use Brita-filters for tank water. It contains silver which may dissolve.
So, "Is this safe for shrimp?" definitely not.

reverse osmosis :smt115 - now I know what r/o water is :-D
You can use a full desalter(?) or demineralized water.

I want to do something like this again: http://www.mailodrom.de/gr/02663-b.jpg I took this photo with a Sony DSC-F717 which I ...

Affordable D-SLR lens?

Hi, is anybody using a D-SLR (esp. Canon 350d/Digital Rebel XT) here. I'm currently looking for a (inexpensive) bright zoom (something about 20-100mm) lens. I have an eye on Sigma 28-70 2.8 or Tamron 28-75 2.8. Any experience about that lens or other recommendation? Any experience about available li...

Depending on your current GH I would prevent to do a huge water change as it will also be stress for the shrimp. I would so it step by step... I'm not sure if it is the same with fish and shrimp. But because of the osmotic preasure is a problem for fish I would recommend many small water changes... ...

Hi Sheryl, the reason could be the cabonate harderness. Every acid will react with the harderness and - guess this is correct - be neutralized. So please check the harderness and reply. Please prevent to big pH differences in to short time... Edit: I have done water changes with 7.0 r/o water in the...

Hi, guess we are talking about different types of cyano. Mine were blue algae and the stone was dried after empty a blue algae contaminated tank. As ucanbyteme wrote about "red algae" - which I think are sea or brakish water bacteria - you can not compare it... Sorry - I just read cyano......

Hi Mustafa, OK - lets divide  There are the real dwarf shrimp (Caridina/Neocaridina) and the small sized shrimp... I'm looking for the last one. What I currently found is Peru zebra shrimp Euryrhynchus amazoniensis which is - with 3cm - small sized. http://www.aquarium-glaser.de/maxtool...
