Thanks neon for the info. I was not able to raise the filter so as to have the air bubbles higher, but I did slow the bubbles down and that has worked real well as they no longer go to the top. I do have 3 of these sponge filters and I really like them. As stated before you can clean one sponge while leaving the other alone til the next cleaning. I also like that it shoots water sideways instead of straight up. Also the shrimp munch out and rest inside the grooves on the sponge.

Congrats on your snowflakes, I think thats awesome as I myself am awaiting for the arrival of snowflakes. I am glad to hear yours did it in a 10 gal. as mine would not even consider it til I put them in a 20 gallon. Does this mean Im raising brats?
