Shrimp are opportunistic hunters. If a weak/sick/vulnerable meal presents itself they will hunt it down, if they can. Have plenty of nooks for shrimp to hide in after molting. Shrimp Cannibalism
I know Shrimp are carnivores and often eat their own young, but do they commonly eat another shrimp their size? Between the past two days, 1 specific Ghost Shrimp molted. Molting
Do shrimps commonly molt parts of the body rather than the whole at once? I have Ghost Shrimp in a newly set up 10g. It appears that a shrimp has just molted and part of the back just landed into the gravel. There are no dead shrimp in site. Should I leave the shell in the tank or take it out?
