Re: Macrobrachium idella
he's got a point there. buddy of mine ordered something that had the picture of a sulawese shrimp, was called a black diamond, and what she got in the mail was a low grade bee. i walked into a pretty decent shop last week where they had 8 varieties listed. three of them were cherries with different ...

Re: Shrimp larvea and bristlenoses
yeah, you can jam a lot of tanks in if you go vertical. i have a bunch in the garage i'm trying to figure out how to shoe-horn in, but i'm going to have to replace some of the existing ones in the end. i have a ~28x16 area and 8 tanks outside of that space.

Re: Shrimp larvea and bristlenoses
yeah sorry, i just figured everyone knows BBS is brine shrimp. i guess there's an opportunity for there to be folks here that don't deal with that aspect of the hobby though. i have something between 100-115 tanks running at any given time, so since i only have enough dedicated to shrimp/crays to se...

Re: Shrimp larvea and bristlenoses
ok, cool. i just adopted the high/low thing because its quicker and easier to remember. i don't have access to the lit, so i didn't know where the two originated. i'll switch to the more accepted terms then. the only reason i suspected the bristlenoses was because i've watched them many times come t...

Re: Shrimp larvea and bristlenoses
i figured as much. she hasn't berried again yet. these guys are pretty fragile. i got them out of a feeder tank, probably had all sorts of health issues when i got them. bought 6 in march and only three have made it this far.

Shrimp larvea and bristlenoses
so i really didn't think anything of it at the time, but i have three small bristlenoses in a tank i was using to raise up some macrobrachium lanchesteri larvea and the larvea dissappeared. i haven't seen the bristlers go for high order babies, but i do see them eat brine shrimp when i feed it to my...

Re: Celebes Jungle Crabs
i was really tempted to get some of these but was afraid they would die in the mail and then i would have a hard time replacing them. one's i saw were pretty expensive too.

Re: Baby Ghost Shrimp
1 mm, there is nothing that big floating in the water. Do you feed them "green water" when they're that small? Or do they scrounge the "live rock/aquascape"? those are some good pictures for something that small. Has anyone experimented using hard boiled egg yolk to feed larva? ...

Re: do you have Shrimp Madness?
so are most of you guys shrimp and crays only or do you do fish too? i'm pretty much a generalist, keep a little bit of everything. aside from shrimp/crays, recent favorites are killies, rainbows, and wild bettas.

Re: Killer Amano shrimp...
dude must be nuts. I agree, but I can't help but wonder if he was trying to make them look vicious like pirranas. Don't let this leak out to Hollywood, I don't want to see a movie called "Attack of the killer Mysis"! :smt005 in the opening scene, a greenpeace boat is stopping a whaler. su...
