My first eggs.

I thought some of you might be interested to know that today I noticed my first egg holding shrimp!
Im so excited about it so I quickly baby proofed the filter in their tank so no babies can get sucked up it.

Lets hope all goes well.

Transfer done and dusted.

I transferd the shrimp from my 7 gallon into my 10 gallon tank. The ten shrimp that where in there all seemed happy so i decided to buy 5 more cherrys and an ammano shimrp. The largest of the 15 cherrys is still only small, about 1.5 cm and the new ones I got are very small, about 0.75cm but it shou...

The water stats are
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
ph - 7.8
nitrate - 20
The other shrimp are all acting fine and feeding.
It was a new shrimp so is it likely to be stress ?

Ok guys, thanks for all the advice. I will think about it and let you know what i do. I will most likely swap it with some from my fish tank because the black would suit that tank as it is full of slate and the natural gravel from there will go with the soon to be shrimp tank.

Im not sure as the bag it came in didnt have a label on it, just a sticker saying 'aquarium gravel'. The gravel is small and black in colour too if that helps with anything. It was in a clear plastic packet, like what most gravels are sold in so i asume it was put in the bags in a factory or somethi...

Magnetic Gravel...help...

When i was cleaning the glass in my soon to be cherry shrimp tank, the magnetic algea scrubber fell off and landed on the gravel. When i lifted up the cleaner, some of the gravel was stuck to eat so i picked it off thinking it was just attached because of the rough texture but i checked it by moving...

They arnt all .5, that was the smallest, they are slowly growing and the biggest one that went through his first molt today is about 1 cm now, and like mustafas article about buying young shrimp, i am going to be able to keep them longer.

I finally have my first cherry shrimp !!

As of today i am the proud owner of 6 baby cherry shrimp, after asking my lfs to get some in they did and i went to buy some today for £2 each. I can tell they are babies because they are only 0.5 cm long and dont have full colour yet which is good becuase i get to keep them longer. :D
