I'm in a planted tank forum, wich much discussion about shrimp, and I've never heard of anything like amanos eating plants... I'd assume I would have if it's common at all.

Anyone close to the Okanagan, BC?

I'm wondering if anyone, preferable with a red cherry shrimp supply ;), lives somewhere near me, in Kelowna, BC (within the Okanagan Valley)? If so, please let me know, or better yet, send me a PM!

Can't say I have. Never fed them that before.

I feed mine either shrimp pellets, or sinking pellets, or flake food. I like how the flake food gets everywhere so they can find it easily and not fight over anything either.

If you still need to break the glass, a sharp tap from a hammer or something hard-heavy would work. Just be sure not to swing at it, but rather tap it firmly enough to break it without smashing your shrimp with the hammer.

I too use a liquid-only dechlorinator. It says it removes heavy metals, but that shouldn't be a problem since heavy metals are bad for shrimp anyways!

I'd be very interested in which ones are safe. I don't want to loose any rare shrimp :(
I have access to Seachem Prime

So the alternative is setting the water out for 24+hours... What if I have chloramines and NEED to use a dechlorinator? :?

I've never used salt, but I do use iodine. Much debate over if they need extra iodine, but I add it anyways. Without the the salt of any kind, the shrimp are thriving. Just gotta take good care of them.
