Thank you Newjohn,

I was toying with the idea of trying to get them to breed as they are very beautiful shrimps (to me anyway)

There seems to be very little information anywhere that I can find about water parameters and or breeding of this shrimp.

I unintentionally started a similar experiment... After starting a 15 gallon with 10 young Malaya Shrimp the wife bought me 10 young Indian Zebra. Having no cycled tank to house the zebra I put them in with the Malaya as opposed to my CRS or RCS. Both are doing great and will be of breeding age very...

Hello Neonshrimp,

The large rock is gneiss, a metamorphic rock from here in AZ and is quite stable and without toxic metals. It was collected in the mountains near my home.

I have seen this as well and have some that have had young before even getting much color... Makes the saddle really stand out doesn't it? Being new to shrimp I didn't give it much thought, but they are quite small it seems. My population has reached the point now where there are always several, sad...

The last photo shows Malaya, there are some Zebra in the first photo with Malaya, all are around one half inch or so at this time.

It is the photo quality I know and I again apologize and plan on getting a new camera this week.

Bee Shrimp and CRS question

Hello All, I have a CRS tank with S+ grade in it and they are doing very well and I am hoping to see berried females soon. But I have this question... I was also sent 4 Bee shrimp as a bonus and after seeing articles about Bee Shrimp being kept with CRS to strengthen the gene pool and being a new sh...

Hello Mustafa, I have counted 7 out of my 10 and am guessing they are all still in there. I was watching them forage in and out of the substrate which is boulder size to very small shrimp and they are so clear at this young age as to render them almost invisible when in the gravel. Lots of goodies t...

Well my Malaya Shrimp now have 10 tank mates. The wife bought me 10 very small Indian Zebra Shrimp as a gift after seeing me looking at them last week. After putting them in the tank the once somewhat shy Malaya Shrimp are now quite active and being just a tad larger than the Indian Zebra Shrimp per...

Well imagine my surprise when I arrived home today after work and was able to spot 3 of my Malaya Shrimp working on a leaf! Perhaps all is not lost and the others are still alive as well. They have grown and appear very healthy. They are still small enough to easily hide within the substrate and thi...

Well somehow I blew it.... Water tested fine through the last time I saw a shrimp a couple days ago and I think they are now all gone. There were both alge and a couple leaves (Mulberry as they seemed to spend more time on them after trying Oak and Ash) and other food was never left in the tank for ...
