My puffs also do not bother shrimps. I also have ottos and true SAEs with them and a few bristlenoses. They occasionally harass the SAEs (nice fins) - so I'd say no to the guppys, probably too big a temptation. They wont eat them (they might eat tiny babies muhaha) they'll nip their finsa and chase ...

I am as startled as you lol. I didnt even think they'd survive that temp at first. But they did so moved them all. And they continued breeding. amazing really. a very hardy species. My other tank was 30c (forgot the f translation now - but warm). so tolerates a wide range.

Can you help me with my new shrimp? Its a filter feeder, but not sure else. Not a bamboo I dont think. COuld be the african kind, he has a different colour though and isnt that big (I guess YET lol).

If it is the african kind are the quite armour plated out of interest???

I have these :) Many of them, you might remember lol. Want any more pics of babies or various poses??

Anyways, I had them in a planted tank for a while. No problem with plants, though the adults can be a bit clumsy so can knock things around. No damage to speak of though.

YMMV. Try some ghosts first if you can get em.

FWIW - my 2 adult discus (6 & 7" disc) never touched any shrimps I have had in their tank, ranging from cherries, amanos and Macro's. Neither did my clown loaches. Maybe I was just lucky ;)

cool thanks naomi. Well I have added so far about 25 shrimps, so am on the right limit for now as per 1 per gallon (which is what I think is about right). I will see how they do for a bit. Algae is going down - slowly. SAEs prolly help with it too.

What do you mean add red to the cherry shrimp? DO you mean to the name? I guess its just human, they are red and cherrys are red, it just kinda sets in your mind!
