mixing shrimp
I have a tank of cherry red shrimp. I will be getting a few crystal red and a couple of green shrimp. From the search forum, I read you can mix the cherries and crystal shrimp. However, I wonder if the green shrimp will be a problem. Should I have a separate tank for them, or will the one tank do? I...

Re: Can someone tell me what this orange shrimp is??
It looks to be what is commonly called simply an Orange Shrimp and if so then it needs brackish water to complete the life cycle of the young. I became interested in them early on and after doing some research and basically coming up with very little info changed my mind. Bill Thanks Bill, I had a ...

Hydra are small jellyfish, right? I thought they were a saltwater aquarium problem. Jan
badflash wrote:This should be done only rarely. They prefer plant based foods. Brine shrimp will foul your water and like majic hydra will appear out of nowhere.

feeding cherry red shrimp
I am considering feeding live adult brine or baby brine shrimp to my cherry red shrimp as a supplemental food. For that matter, I could also consider live brine as a supplement for the orange or crystal red shrimp. Have any shrimp owners done this? I know my ghost shrimp(both marine and fresh water)...

Re: tigger pods
Yes, currently I am growing them in saltwater, with an airstone very slowly bubbling, a small piece of live rock, chaetomorpha, and feeding every few days with nannocloropsis or phytofeast.

Re: Opae Ula
I agree with Neoshrimp. Stick with what you have for awhile. In the past when I have increased my supply of the hawaiian reds, I have experienced some loss. I wonder if like fish, these shrimp can introduce new bacteria and parasites into a tank. Perhaps it would be best to set up a separate quarant...
