Re: Help ID these 2 Shrimp
Thank you Mustafa. I was told it was thought to be a Chameleon Shrimp, but when I googled it, it looked nothing like the pictures, esp. the fuzz. I did another search today & found this bit of information. Note the hairy coating on the claw of the adult male. This is normal, and usually happens ...

Can shrimp help reduce this sludge in my filter?
I have a lot of wood in my tank, & I think thats the cause of this sludge (brown algie?). My filter gets clogged monthly. I also have 2 waterfall filters aiding in moving water around & collecting this sludge. http://jess.the-dog-dish.net/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_it...

Re: Help ID these 2 Shrimp
Hello John,
I have never seen the male without the fuzz. I was worried it might be a fungus or something, but when he molts its still there, its also not spreading, its grew to what it currently is, & has stayed like that.

Re: Shrimp babies or not?
Shadohfrog the worms are commonly called red or white worms. They are commonly found in large Cichlid tanks. They are from cheap foods, & if you have marble sized balls of the worms, you have a filthy tank. A few like I have are fine. I have tried killing them for yrs now & as you can tell, ...

Help ID these 2 Shrimp
This two were given to me by Yellow Fish as she is positive these two are the cause of her dear Pinchy's loss of limps, which he didn't recover well from & passed away recently. I put them in a 10 gallon tank & added two glass shrimp to see what would happen. One glass Shimp was no wheres to...

Re: Shrimp babies or not?
As long as I don't need a lawnmower to keep the moss under control, I'll tie a couple little pieces some time this week, Thanks

Re: Shrimp babies or not?
I was thinking of tying on a small piece of moss to 1 of the logs & seeing how it does. I just wasn't sure if I wanted that moss growing everywhere or not. As it looks like it can grow like a weed & to the glass its self. My fear is it getting into my 200.00 filter & breaking it. I would...

Re: Shrimp babies or not?
Its about a 90gal tank. The wood is Oak & Cherry, there are no plants in the tank yet. The back 1/2 of the tank is bare on the bottom. As soon as I can collect enough small pebbles (its winter here) & thin cherry branches, I'll think about adding plants. The tank is a catfish tank, not a shr...

Re: Shrimp babies or not?
Thank you, Yes several females I see on a daily bases have eggs. I have more then 20 glass shrimp in that tank. I love watching them move their swimmers to move the eggs around in her tail & I'm assuming to regulate water flow & temps. Thats why I thought those creatures might be baby shrimp...

Shrimp babies or not?
Good morning all, At first I thought I had Glass Shrimp babies! As to the naked eye they looked like a microscopic shrimp shape. Then more & more weird things started showing up in my jar sample (I keep it on my computer desk, so I can watch these things grow close up) as the weeks went on (abou...
