Re: CPO Breeding Diary
Actually Lili the all my tanks have good secure lids and even duct taped down(I used to keep big crays) I saw the dead bodies of each of the crays in question. I just found another one the other day. Always the same tank. I can't imagine that there is any real difference in water quality or other fa...

I have not seen mine mate as yet so I am not sure how long it takes but you should see berries soon if they mated.

On sexing advice received here I have moved female from Tank #3 into Tank #2 with my known male. He chased her around for awhile but they seemed to have settled down now.

Re: Red Claw sexing help please
Thanks for your help guys.
The pics aren't great and the first and third are the smallest of all so I am not surprised they are difficult to identify.
Are there any identifiable differences in sexual organs. I know with crayfish there are obvious differences that make sexing easy.

Re: Cleaning Dilemma
I have often removed mosses from tanks with babies and had no issues. I would do the tearing under water and give what ever you are removing from the tank a good shake and remove it from the water slowly. You would be surprised how mobile the babies are. Once they know what is happening they will ba...

You should also talk to some of the breeders you are interested in. Some of the inverts and fish I have come across here in Toronto were bred here in our local water which means they are well aclimated. Our water tends to be about the same as yours.

Re: How do I hatch out the shrimp's eggs?
First of all relax. Shrimp carry their eggs until they hatch, they do not lay them. If a female has let them go, they were probably no good. Ghost shrimp can be tricky depending on what species you have, all hatch into larva, some need salty water. Cherries on the other hand require no help. You sho...

Quoting this from a man who soon may actually turn into a crayfish someday. "Those little fellas would be called [Annelid Branchiobdellida] sounds interesting? lol They are a family of leech believe it or not and most usually not harmful (commensal relationship) and most of the time beneficial ...

Re: Help !! Need Advice !!
I would suggest you get a new tank. I have never siliconed at tank but but proper aquarium safe silicone has to cost a fair bit so it is not a much cheaper option. Secondly it will take time to cure before you can put water in perhaps even a couple of days which means you have to rehouse the shrimp ...
