Re: Are these decorations safe to use in my shrimp tank?
I’m just guessing here but wouldn’t putting the dried starfish in the water or boiling it rehydrate it and turn it into a mess.

Re: New On Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp Tank
I'm still trying to work out some issues with my cardinal tank but for the other shrimp varieties and this should also apply to the cardinals. Don't feed the babies anything extra. They will eat the bio-film in the tank and the same food your feeding the adult shrimp. If you add extra food your not ...

Re: Cardinal Shrimp babies
I gave them a medium sinking pellet every day or two when I first got them but I haven't fed them in a couple months. Before the shrimp I had goldfish in this aquarium and they got lots of food but even with the goldfish this aquarium never grew algae. Even without the feeding or algae the snails ar...

Re: red cherry shrimp
Red cherry shrimp can't live in salt water.
I don't know what you mean by live as river shrimp.

Re: Cardinal Shrimp babies
A few of the adult shrimp died early on but I can count 12 of the twenty I bought so I'm sure there are a few more adults that I can't see. So I'm guessing that the critical period is over. However there are no babies. I have seen some berried females and counted as many and 5 babies that I could se...

Re: Shrimps for Romania
I had three sponge filters running off of one air pump with one of the sponge filters being in my super shrimp tank from long before I got the super shrimp. When I set the tank up and added the salt I disconnected the two sponge filters that were in the other tanks and ran the sponge filter in my su...

Re: Setting up a supershrimp tank
My filter is shrimp safe. I bought it a few years ago shortly after I started keeping shrimp and read your forum. Since I got the kold ster il filter I no longer use conditioners. I have the filter hooked up to my python and run temp matched water right into the tank. I still have the colony of Mala...

Cardinal Shrimp babies
After 3 attempts at keeping Cardinal shrimp I found 2 babies and I’m hoping that there are more babies that I don’t see. These guys are tiny but I can see their little white pinchers picking away. I just got these shrimp a little over a week ago so it’s too soon to say if they will survive but even ...

Re: Setting up a supershrimp tank
I was reading the “How to set up your supershrimp tank in a few easy steps” article where it said DO NOT USE TAP WATER!! Purchase distilled or R/O water and mix with sea salt. That’s going to be a lot of work running to the store to get 30 1 gallon jugs of R/O water. I run my tap water through a Kol...

Setting up a supershrimp tank
I have a 30 gallon tank that I would like to set up for some Halocaridina rubra. It’s been running empty with a sponge filter for over 6 months but has been set up for much longer. It’s currently ¾ full of water with no gravel or decorations. To get the tank ready for the shrimp I plan to wipe down ...

Leeches In My Snail Tank
I have leeches in my snail tank and their killing my snails. These are wild caught tylomelania snails so there must have been some leeches on the snails when I got them.
How do I kill or get rid of the leeches without harming the snails?

Re: Malawa shrimp with white eggs
The white egged Malawas do look a little yellowish. It is difficult to tell if the shrimp itself is yellowish or if they just appear yellowish because the eggs are so bright.

Re: Malawa shrimp with white eggs
The shrimp with the white eggs seem to be a lighter color and their strips aren't as dark as some of the other shrimp. But I don't think I would call their coloration unusual.
