Ah yes... scud love. And after the babies are born... wow. I don't think I will ever truly be able to tame these guys... have you seen how small the babie scuds are??? I've created a Scud sucker - a chopstick, some aquarium airhose line, and a few light duty clip-ties to hold it together... Meanwhil...

Re: Malawa update
Malawas seem a little slow to breed for me, but very hardy and ... prolific.

Re: Malawa Shrimp - Photo Gallery and Blog
In case anyone is wondering, Malawas are SUPER robust... and profilic. I think they will last a long time in the hobby - way more interesting to watch than cherries in my opinion....
Mine keep breeding... and breeding...

Flattered for the compliments.
I've been separating my shrimps, and you spotted one of the stragglers... because I have dense vegetation in this tank I have to pick em out when I can see them... so I don't feed em for a day and then feed them... with my net handy.

Just for the record: South American Puffers are very social. Mine co-exist with Neon Tetras cheerfully. They max out at ~1 inch and are extremely (like all puffers) aggressive to tankmate

Re: Malawa Shrimp - Photo Gallery and Blog
Yes, I have some strange coloration happening. One of my malawas is "banded" with orange rings... very peculiar. Cross breeding with the Cherries?
