Ghost shrimp babies!

I tossed a few ghost shrimp carrying eggs into a spare tank about a week ago, and this morning I was rewarded with the sight of the babies at about 3mm long! This is the first time I've seen them spawn. I've had plenty of egg carriers but they always got eaten as soon as they hatched. How long shoul...

Except for the few that didn't make it in the first place, I haven't seen any dead shrimp in either tank. In my shrimp tank, its pretty easy to see that they are doing great. My other tank with the eels is another story. Since the eels eat live shrimp, and my other fish in that tank are quick to eat...

I don't really know if thats considered but yea.. just so you know :-D :-D :-D According to the sticky post, it says don't inquire about shrimp for sale, or list shrimp for sale. Heavenly Fish, located in sourthern NJ. I won them via auction on Aquabid.com. The ghosts were listed under "Food - Live". Paid 9 cents a piece for them with shipping. That was in bulk though. :)

Ghost shrimp arrived!

Yay for me! I got my shipment of ghost shrimp today. About a quarter of them were carrying eggs, so I tried to put as many of the egg carriers into my shrimp only tank. The rest went into my main tank. The fish seem to be leaving the live ones alone, but are munching on the few that didn't make the ...

Best way to relocate fish to another state?

It looks like I might be moving again in the next couple of months. I have a 55 gallon semi-agressive community tank and a 10 gallon shrimp tank. What is hte best way to move the inhabitants of these to tanks? When I had a tank before and moved locally, I just stuck the fish and inverts into coolers...

I too witnessed my first molting last week. At first I thought it was trying to eat another shrimp when I realized that it was actually molting! Since then, I've found several more empty "shells" laying in the substrate. Seems like a good sign!

Ahh too bad. I understand why you don't own a car though. I wouldn't either if I lived and worked in Manhattan.

When you put your shrimp up for sale, will you do local pickup? I live on the Hudson 3 blocks from the PATH train so getting in and out of the city is very easy for me.

I might start a non-profit crustacean organization at some point though so there is some organized body (like the fish associations such as American Liveberers Asscociation, NANFA, American Cichlid Association, American Killifish Association etc). Do you ever put shrimp up for auction at local aqua...
