I read the faq and nothing bout shrimp and salt compatibility

In my 14 gallon I have 3 platy's, a male betta and 5 ghost shrimp. I get the sense my platy's have a mild case of ich as I see them on occasion flinging their bodies along a plant like attempting to remove an irritant.
