Good to know. My fault. Can't find the RCM here anywhere at the moment.

Re: Macrobrachium with celestial danio
Hey Stalker. In the chance that you still have any of these Macrobrachium, would you be willing to sell? From my experience with red claw macros, they make a very cool community and once settled in, they start to breed pretty rapidly. I'd like to get some again, if possible. Hope all your tanks are ...

Re: Adult male blue prawn losing claws when shedding?
Good news. Nitrate was non-existent. Still not sure why the bad sheds. Possibly disturbed them too much during the prior one (although not sure how because I walk on egg shells when i think they are ready to go). Will keep everyone posted.
Time for 125 gallon tank.
Thanks again

Re: Adult male blue prawn losing claws when shedding?
Thank you for the info. I have a Nitrate test kit on the way. In the meantime, I am increasing their water change frequency while also ramping down the feeding.

Re: Adult male blue prawn losing claws when shedding?
Thanks for the reply. The first one to lose its claws shed again today. This is interesting because the shed frequency was rather quick. It only took 12 days for him to shed this time, whereas, the prior shed took two and a half months. I have a few theories about this. 1. The prior shed was not opt...

Adult male blue prawn losing claws when shedding?
Not sure why this happened but both of my males (in separate tanks) lost their claws on their most recent shed.

Re: Quick vid of my prawn
They are pretty hardy. The two adult males have slowed down considerably as they grew into their tanks. When they were small, they would shed every two weeks and ate like pigs. The caveat to these shrimps is they need a lot of room (125 gallon or bigger) and many times it is difficult to keep them w...

Re: Macrobrachium sp. "Red Claw" with eggs
Another batch of babies in the community tank. This time there are almost 50 of them. Will try to get some pics. I've never seen so many. Lots of fun.

Re: newbie here with a couple simple questions
I assume you acclimated them?
That PH is quite low. I'd keep it around 7.5 if possible.

Re: Quick vid of my prawn
Another shed and this creature has seriously outgrown his 20 gallon. Will have a 75 gallon ready hopefully by the weekend. Any tips for transferring him with the least amount of disturbance? I was almost thinking about draining the 20 down pretty low and removing the decor. Then slowly adding some w...

Re: Cherax destructor-yabbies
Clawdia was the girlfriend's idea. Thought it was perfect. :) Speaking of which, she shed a couple days ago. Grew quite a bit but lost one of her claws. This might be a good thing as Zoidberg is over an inch smaller than her. I'd hate to see her bully him around. They seem to be getting along better...

Re: Macrobrachium sp. "Red Claw" with eggs
I checked the tank last night and did not see any offspring. Thought it was weird. Looked everywhere but... they vanished. So either the water quality wasn't up to par (they seemed healthy and the parameters are perfect) or the mom gobbled them. Seems implausible except there is almost no other expl...

Re: Quick vid of my prawn
He seems to be doing quite well, eating everything in sight. I'll post an update after next shed.
Thanks Mustafa. Much appreciated.
