A friend tried simply to put a huge ball of chaetomorpha and some pieces survived and now are growing like crazy.

Hello. I'm posting in this section but I dont have any Opae Ula. Why then? -Because I'm building the same setup for my shrimp that I would do for Opae Ula. -Because I hope (not so) secretly to get some Opae Ula someday -Because the shrimps I will breed in this tank will be (I think) great tank-mates...

Does the filaments retract when you touch them? Are the shrimps malking on them without been harm?
There is only a few plants or animals compatible with Opae Ula, it would be great to discover some fort of soft coral compatible with this brackish environement.

You can lower the salinity very slowly, the alga may adapt.

It's rare for me but i'm not ok with Mustafa this time! The main problem with fast growing plants is that it grow too fast and become ugly. And if your tank is very very planted, they may eat all the oxygen at night. I had this issue but at the moment my tank was more a box full of plants than an aq...
