Re: New Shrimp
They are very interesting. One night I had thrown a few pellets in and a crushed ramshorn snail. The largest shrimp grabbed the snail in its mouth and had a pellet in each claw running all over the tank. Had me laughing so hard.

Re: New Shrimp
Ok these guys are absolute carnivores. They have been in the tank for about a month and have cleaned the tank completely of ramshorn and MTS snails. Nothing but empty shells left. No algae or plants have been touched. The only food they seem to go for is carnivore pellets. These guys have been bette...

New Shrimp
Went to my LFS today and they had these for a buck each so I got 5 of them. They were called Whisker shrimp. They are quite wild looking with their eyes perched high above their bodies and long antenna or whiskers. I am assuming they are an Indian macro shrimp from what I can find out but I do not s...

Molt
Looked in the tank when I got home and thought one of my Amanos was on the moss ball. Looked closer and realized it was just an empty shell. I see them all the time laying on the bottom but never like this. Thought it was cool. Looks like she just walked out of it.

Don't give up. Key is a mature tank, then find shrimp that like your water.

my shrimp tank(s)
I am getting quite a colony of shrimp going. My primary tank is a 5.5g that has been up and going for over a year in various forms. I started a few months ago with 5 Amano to see if they would live. I lost 2 but the others are doing great so I added 10 pee wee red rilli that were <1/4" and they...

Re: Does everyone feed their shrimp daily
I have Neos and Ammano and feed 2 maybe 3 times a week and keep the tank at room temp 70 deg. I keep a small 25w heater in my 5g to maintain since I noticed the temp would fluctuate because home heat is only on while we are here. My other tanks 20g up to 70 have no heat and stay at 70.

Neo Confusion
I haven't looked at new shrimp for awhile. I used to see just Blue Pearls, now I see blue neos, blue velvets and the pearls. What is the difference? Same with the dark greens and green babaulti. Other than taking someones word for it is there any way to tell the diferences?

Re: Will they interbreed
Thanks. Am planning to convert my 40b to shrimp and would like a variety in it rather than just 1 or 2 types. This is a great forum, simple straight to the point answers. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Will they interbreed
Most charts I have seen do not have some of the newer shrimp listed. I was wondering if Tiger/super Tigers (Cardina Cantonensis) will inter breed with the Caridinia Sulawesi. I am thinking of setting up a tank for Sulawesi's, Super Tigers and a Neo either oranges or Blueberries.
