So this Metabetaeus lohena is safe to put inside the tank along with opae ula?
Need to change the water conditions or they can survive in the same conditions as opae ula?

Re: Question about snails
Will the reproduce quickly and flood my tank with snails?
I don't want that to happen as the shrimps are the main characters.

Algae growing on shells inside shrimp tank
Is is normal for algae to be growing on the shells inside the tank?
Any ways to remove the algae or prevent the growth of it? I don't want my whole tank to be green

Re: my snail died
I think one of mine may have croaked too. It burrowed itself down into the rocks right up against the side of the bowl (in a whole pile of shrimp waste) and hasn't emerged from its shell in days. I've noticed they retract into their shells for periods of time, but I've never seen one do it for this...

Re: A pic or two of my Opae Ula
How long did they took to finish the snail? Mine pulled it out from the shell before swamping it. Was it the same for you?Rob in Puyallup wrote:A dinner "prepared" by a snail. (If you know what I mean...)

Re: my snail died
Update 3*
My weak snail died. And the Shrimps ate it in like a day.
So for those whose snail died, it is ok to leave it in the tank as the shrimps will "take care" of it.

Re: my snail died
All snails drop from the glass. They are good engineers and use gravity to aid their travels. In a few months, your only concern will be that you have too many snails. But mine has v little suction. The surface area touching the glass is significantly smaller than the other snail. I think it has we...

Update 2*
It seems that the snail is unable to keep suction on the glass. Once again it fell down. I'm seriously thinking it is gonna die soon. Anyone have such experience before?
