What I meant was to ask gabs what he meant by "new bee" shrimp. I know it is just mostly Bumble Bee shrimps, but I was hoping gabs will clarify that a little bit by showing some of his pictures of his "new bee" shrimps.

Guess what? I have finally managed to breed 2 different strains of Bumble Bee shrimps. They look exactly the same as Mustafa's pictures under "Shrimp Varieties" - the first 2 pictures.

It took me a long time, but finally after months of patiently waiting, I got my F1 generations of both ...

That really does not look like a Tiger shrimp. But it actually looks like an Amano shrimp based on the body patterns (dots). Again, if I am wrong about this, please let me apologize ahead of time.

That is one cool looking shrimp John. Like Mustafa stated, please breed them to produce a good colony so you can spread this new discovery to us.

If shrimps get sick, there is usually no cure. So meds. is not even necessary. If you have good water conditions, food, and without any predators in that tank, you should be able to breed shrimps easily.

Why do you even need to use meds. in the first place? Do you have fish in there?

I am very glad you wrote this article Mustafa. Now let's just hope the people out there (especially the new people who will join this forum) not just try to claim something that is not true in regards to RCS and its wild-type strain counterpart, and read your article before even trying to argue ...

If you bought them from your local LFS, then it is highly likely they were imported/wild-caught. There is no such thing as 50% loss over 14 days is normal. Did your local LFS owner told you that as well? I believe he/she told you to make you buy more to overcome the "future losses" you will ...

If you acquire them from which they were captive bred, then I believe it will hold on to it until they hatch.

If they were not acquired from captive bred, then actually it could all depend on several factors. How long have you been keeping them so far? Were they originally imported/wild-caught ...

The pH you have them in is perfect Wood. I believe it will take several days for your Tiger shrimps to adjust to their new environment. I have the same type of filter as you have, so acclimating to their new environment should be a breeze.
