Yeah, they look like the marble crayfish, but they got more red in them and some light aquaish color too. Mine are not adults yet and the pictures were obviously not full grown either. The ones I saw at the pet store that were larger were more red, so I thought maybe the red swamp crayfish looked mo...

Crayfish Questions (Dwarf Cajun and Blues)

I am thinking of getting some dwarf cajun crayfish but wondered what size tank is needed. How big for 5, 10, 15? I am also thinking of getting some blue colored crayfish (it's own tank of course). How big a tank do I need for these per crayfish? Adult size tank that is since it is best to plan ahead...

I think they might be Red Swamp Crayfish (Procambarus clarkii). My largest one is about 3.5" now. Scared me when I saw him since I didn't think he was that big not long ago. Anyways, I am down to 7 of my original 10 which tells me they really need more room and more hiding places (maybe more fo...

I would have to agree then that they must be some other sort of crayfish since they decided to snack on ALL my live plants in that tank. Even all the java moss. They look so much like the picture of the crayfish on this site. Maybe I will try to see if I can get pics and post them so someone can ide...

New Dwarf Crayfish?

I got 10 crayfish from the petstore this past week. The adults were a little over an inch long and the ones I got look just like the picture of the Cajun Dwarf Crayfish picture on this site. They are living in my 40g tank that has a light Eco-Complete layer (not gravel, just left over Eco-Complete f...

How many Red Volcanic Shrimp (Halocaridina rubra) can I put in a 5.5g? How big a tank would 500 Red Volcanic Shrimp (Halocaridina rubra) need? hehe

Currently I have 12 in a tank that is <1g and am thinking of just going for a larger tank. I just love these little guys. :D

The algae still is blooming and I am a tad concerned.. though the shirmps don't seem to care.. and are found around it. Here are some pictures: http://www.polliwog-design.com/shr...
