I guess I forgot to mention when I said the tank was well cycled it did have a host of fish in it and has been reading zero across the board for 3 years *sorry*

I have to move my shrimp into a bigger tank. The tank they are in is aging and starting to leak ((slowly)).
Any suggestions on an easy transition for them? I am going to re-use their water and I do have enough RO water on hand to re-fill (they are going from a 20 long to a 45 long). The tank itself ...

I really dont think there is a right or wrong way, I think it's a matter of trial and error.

I keep my cuttlebone in the bottom of my corner filter. I have found that keeping fish and shrimp isnt good especially if you want to breed them. You cant see the cuttlebone that way.

As for cleaning...I have sand in the bottom of mine and tons of plants. The only thing in my tank is cherry reds ...

I keep trumpets because my shrimp tank has alot of plants...and trumpets do live in the gravel and move the substrate around and in turn my plants grow better. That and in all honest it seems my beloved cherry prefer to eat after the house is quiet and IF I should happen to overfeed them no worries ...

I was feeding my cherry red's tonight and I found this "thing" in my tank. Its about 3/4 inch long has 6 legs...its really skinny and has like a V shape tail. It swims be kinda squiggling thru the water. It appears to have a separate head from its body.
I use playsand mixed with some rock in my tank ...

1 other question I'm sorry gang...Why are some of my shrimp bright fire engine red and others more of a palish pink color and smaller? Is it a sex difference or am I doing something wrong? I would say about half of them are bright fire engine red and the other half are the lighter pinkish color.

I have about 25 cherry shrimp in a heavly planted 20 gallon(short) tank. They share their home with 1 mystery snail. They have 2 corner filters (one on each end).
OK now my questions here and I am sorry if they have been asked I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.
