I understand them hiding for a while... I get that. What I am saying is that they seem to be hiding forever.
In tank number 1 I can see the little ones when they come out from hiding, and follow their development.
Thank number 2 I only see them up to the point they get bentic.

Do I have a problem? Don't see baby shrimp in tank #2
Hi, I am totally confused.... Both my tanks are reproducing non stop now... I have a 5 gallon (tank #1) and a 10 gallon (tank #2). At any time, I have at least 2 berried females in each tank, and plenty of Larvae floating around. On tank #1, I can see the babies once they can come out of hiding... H...

Re: New tank set up
If you don't mind, would you post some pictures of your tanks, and their sizes? I love seeing other tanks and plan to set up at least one more. Holey rocks, if you can find them, are one way to set up easy hiding places since they are full of holes. You can see my set up here: http://www.petshrimp....

Re: New tank set up
It has been my experience that these shrimp like places to hide to reproduce... In my first tank, they only reproduce in a cave I made with lava rock. They reproduce non stop. The second tank is starting to reproduce, and again, the momma is in a large coral that gets no direct light with lots of pl...

Re: So excited! Finally a berried female in tank #2!
That's really cool to see, I want mine to grow up and start reproducing :) Very pleased for you. Yeah Mech, this tank is my "Phoenix" tank... It has been through hell and back a couple of times. I had to completely start over twice, and it's been a constant struggle to get it back under c...

Re: OMG, Finally!! Berried Female :)
This tank is doing amazing! It continues to reproduce non stop! I always have at least one or two berried females at a time, and floating Larvae. The Larvae are all surviving and turning bentic. Just a joy to watch! No hair algae problems, both mustafa's and the original marimo ball are also doing g...

Re: Have been lurking for a long time..... Now need help....
if you are prepared to do water changes you can feed your tank more :P Been there, done that, it was a diasater... Tanks are doing much better without any feeding. If I feel there is a lack of nutrients, then I will feed... But out of my two tanks, one is reproducing non stop. The other one still n...

Re: Found a dead shrimp, should I be worried?
Not that my tank is well established by any means, but it had been doing VERY well following my emergency water change. Just recently, I've had a shrimp who is stuck in a molt, and is dying. So sad about this because every single one survived after I took emergency measures, and now this :( I think...

The tank is doing amazing, it's reproducing non stop, in fact I just found another berried momma today, the Larvae and juvies are all surviving and doing great, mommas are not dropping eggs... Re: OMG, Finally!! Berried Female :)
As soon as I transferred the hermit, he changed shell to a MUCH bigger one, and killed a snail MTS for lunch... I guess he was hungry.... Ok by me, as I am having a snail infestation at that tank. Maybe that's one of the reasons you don't have to feed him. :) In any case, all that patience has been...
