Re: New Hikari shrimp food (with copper)
Actually, on the subject of shrimp-specific foods (did a search and didn't see any mention of this particular one here, so), Ocean Nutrition has had a shrimp wafer out for almost a year now. http://www.oceannutrition.com/product_fresh.php?file=ae06.html Royal Pet Supply didn't see much point in stoc...

oh joy, more crayfish worms... any ideas? (on ID, I mean)
Someone traded in a crayfish, no idea what species. About five-six inches. Brown, with blue legs. Claws have the, ah, rounder shape, rather like some of the Australian crayfish. (Guess I'd better take photos, huh?) It was hiding behind a lift tube constantly, so I leaned a nice big slate against the...

Interesting. That looks to be about the right size and shape, with very similar movement. The ones I observed in the store did not have visible digestive tracts, however, I had no means of magnification at hand, and essentially resorted to mashing my face up against the glass, so that might explain ...

About half cm to just under one cm long, light brown, suckers on each tip, moved in typical leech style (both inchworming with only the suckers in contact consistently with the crayfish, and that thing where they anchor one sucker, and flail around trying to find something to cling to), and congrega...

Leeches?
How to get rid of them, specifically. A couple of months ago, the manager of the store I worked at had ordered several red crayfish. The day after they arrived, the manager mentioned that some were acting sluggish and one had died already. I took a look, observed mass quantities of leeches on the cr...

Sorry for the bump, but if you look at Seachem's own site, they show some of the details. Calcium content on both Onyx substrates is up there: 197500 mg/kg. For reference, that's about half of what's in most of their marine substrates. In fact, comparing the quantities listed, I'd even venture to gu...

I believe it depends on what kind of mosquito tablet it is. Those donut-shaped floating things supposedly use some sort bacteria which specifically attack mosquito larvae. They say it only goes after them, but when advertising is involved, who knows? Perhaps this is worth experimenting with in a sma...

I just posted the scientific name, what possibly gave you the idea that I'd need more information that I already know? Yes, Cladophora aegagropila IS an algae. But look, what's this!
