I guess my tank is stable now. I worry they breed too much now haha! I only feed a tiny pellet a week. I last top up RO water like 2 months ago.Mech wrote: Now I have my tank stable I just need to feed and not disturb them and hope to achieve what you have with your tank

Re: Iwagumi Low Profile Opaeula Tank Setup
Update! Well I haven't been updating here much haha! Sorry about that. :-D Ever since my 4th berried shrimp, I had a 5th one. Which is now in a process of releasing her babies. So today, when I woke up, I saw frenzy swimming in my tank! Another soon-to-be berried shrimp! Omg there are like at least...

Re: Seamlessly & Safely Upgrading a Tank
I think it's okay for you to run the filter for a few hours (or maybe a night) to clear up some of the scum/debris. Don't worry, you will still have beneficial bacteria as long as you keep the old water. Make sure you're 100% sure all shrimps are out haha! Arrange how you want your scape (rocks etc)...

Nope. I used to have a filter but I scrapped that. My 3 tanks are filterless.

Maybe the algae on that rock is too delicious to just pick on them using claws.. Just chow it down!

Re: Iwagumi Low Profile Opaeula Tank Setup
Update! The 4th berried female released its babies yesterday! :-D I counted and it seems that I have 16 of them? Not sure if I counted the ones from the 3rd female. :P Larva from the 3rd female can be seen floating around but most began to swim like the adults. Will probably do a recount again hehe....

Re: Purple zebra shrimp?
A quick Google search and this is one of the photos.
Read about it and most say that they are extremely hard to breed in captivity. I wonder how long their lifespan is?- Tue Nov 10, 2015 7:04 pm

Re: Larvae not surviving
Nice! Seems like there's a lot of hiding places. Once the larva are able to swim like the adults, they go into hiding to feel safe. Food is already available to them in between the rocks/crevices. My lone baby shrimp went missing for a few days before I saw him again, slightly grown up. They're pret...
