I'm in the process of moving my shrimp from a 1.5 gallon tank into a planted 5 gallon tank. I moved the adults and they are doing just fine, however I have lots of babies and I can't figure out a good way to get them. My old tank has a gravel bottom and they're so small they actually seem to go betw...

Here are some pics, I have over 100 in the tank so it's hard to tell who's new, but the tank is still healthy ...

Thanks, a couple questions...
Are the babies supposed to float at the top, or basically anywhere in the tank ?
And question number two, will they get caught in the hair algae ? I removed some in the past but it grows back so fast ..

So, my babies have survived they are doing great, but now I have about four berried shrimp in the main tank...I have added lots more anacharis for them to hide since my mommy's are at different stages in their pregnancies if you can call them that ..So I decided not to take them out well, I've left ...

I have a heavily planted tank with ramshorn snails and ghost shrimp. I noticed this one is darker and less active than the others, is this really a ghost or something else ? He/She has a dark stripe down the middle of the back and some dark spots, it's really pretty I just don't know what species .....

Found out the crabs like moving water. My tank has no running filter...

I unfortunately think the crabs may have added something to the tank ...

Not sure where you live but the Petco in my area has lava rock the shrimp look great against it.
Its black and has lots of little caves, nooks, and crannies

One more thing, the hermit crabs from the Pet Depot here in Hawaii all come from the beach. I have a feeling they just did not acclimate well to the brackish water in my tanks
