Re: My success story
Very interesting. And ha, when in doubt, do nothing.
I have finished a six month experiment with not feeding. Baby production has been continuous.
Thank you for all the posts. As I have stated many times, this is my favorite thread.

Re: Nanosphere 9
I have not fed Nanosphere 9 for a solid six months and the hair algae is still rampant. Baby production is continuous. The Marimo balls are still emerald green.

Re: Can Amano shrimp be kept with Opae Ula?
The Amano shrimp is still in there and just like one of the group. The hair algae is still a problem. I have manually removed it a few times now. I have stopped the power feeding months ago. I just wanted to stimulate reproduction. I have randomly put some spirulina in there on ocassion but maybe, i...

Re: Ecospheres
Wow! Good job. And it would appear that the life expectancy of Opae Ups is so long that it is unknown. I think te longest known is pushing 25 years. I also want to add that the life expectancy in Ecospheres is variable depending on the size of sphere. The larger spheres live longer. That woman that ...

Re: Marimo success
Ha. I have been removing that green debri that accumulates around Ecoshere 9.
If your marimo is not pearling gas it's because it's not getting enough light. Mine recieve hours of direct eastern sunlight every sunny morning.

Re: Nanosphere 9
There are now 280 and then there are the children which are from this year. There are more than 300 including them. I got them from another breeder in the US. But I'm very interested in acquiring more from another source for genetic diversity. These shrimpies came from an initial population of 65. A...

Re: Marimo success
The marimos that I have are obviously not dead as they pearl profusely every single day. I think that is really beneficial to the sphere. I'm sure the water is well oxygenated. I could probably seal the sphere.
