Re: Need help reviving neglected tank
Yes there are still many shrimp and some snails. The snails seem to die young these days, haven't seen any grow very large in probably a year.

Need help reviving neglected tank
Hello, My 3 year old tank is in terrible shape. I've had the tank at my office, and was just able to go get it. The macroalgae grew a lot and was mostly dead. I just removed 75% of it. There's tons of algae growing everywhere. I've been trying to remove as much as possible. I'll likely remove the al...

Re: Growth in tank
Thanks for the responses. I'll pull some of the algae.
The small chunks of coral were given to me by an aquarium store. Perhaps those are the culprit.

Re: Growth in tank
I use distilled water. The setup is a little under a year old.
Is hair algae a problem, or should I just let it grow?

Growth in tank
There is a pretty significant growth in the bottom of the tank. I'm not sure if it's beneficial for the shrimp or not. I've lost about 3 sets of babies over the past few months. No food added to the tank. Snails seems to be doing very well, there are many of them hanging around. Any opinions on this...

Tank died
Hello, Sadly all of my shrimp just died, and it looks like the snails are dying too. My tank was doing very well, snails multiplied a few times and I had one berried shrimp. It's been getting significantly colder and all my shrimp started hiding constantly, so I decided to add this heater and set it...

Re: First tank - ready for shrimp?
Thanks for the replies. There is lots of growth on the pieces of coral which came from a tank at my local aquarium store, however nothing seems to have grown on the large rock yet. I was thinking more rocks to have more surface area for growth to feed the shrimp. I'm hoping to have the shrimp feed s...

First tank - ready for shrimp?
Hello, The tank is 2gal, aragonite sand, covered in small pieces of coral. The tank is about 3+ weeks old. I've had macroalgae in the tank for about 2 weeks, and 10 snails for about a week.(both from this site) I'm hoping to find some kind of sea fan or some larger coral/lava rock to fill the tank i...
