try close all light, use torch light beam it at the side tank. Observe properly for any small particle movement.
From my opae, not all eggs will float, some will just stay at the bottom but they just really loves going towards light. Try it and let us know.

Brown algae only happens to me when the tank is new, it will go away after sometimes besides Opae do eat brown algae and my nerite snail loves eating it. The odds of me seeing babies seem to be diminishing. The 2 who had a lot of eggs now only have 4 or 5 each. The red one still has her single one though.
