Oh alright then. it's an option though but it's totally not a tank for decoration, other than that everything is good :)

Re: Nano Tanks

Is that one of those tanks you pour the water in and it drains the bad water out? Does it really work? Yup that's the one. Yes it does work. Just make sure to check those water that came out whether there are babies opae before throwing it out. I marked the highest spot where the water stopped so w...

Re: Nano Tanks

Hiya, Anyone out there have any small (I mean small!) tanks? I tried looking through the gallery for ideas, but most of the pictures/links in the posts don't work. I'm just looking for decorative ideas for tanks less than 1/2 gallon. Mine is approx. 0.25 gallon (desktop). Would love to see pics! Th...

I'm wondering the last pic, what type of plants in there? or are those all algae?
I believe it’s the sea grass, Ruppia maritima.
Do Opae love those? Too much of nutrient causing them overgrown.

Re: Hydrometer use

Yes it's diatom. But mine still has the brown algae for a few months Oh mine too, the only green are hair algae and chaeto. I think you better get those burrower snails. Mine was crush Coral as ground and even though it's a small tank it has a self cleaning sistem built, it's better for me to just ...

Re: Hydrometer use

I have no idea about the Hydrometer, different type of hydrometer might give different reading though. Those brown algae, I though it'll go away by itself :smt017 ? Anyway Nerite snail loves eating them :) In my experience nerites don't really dig much though. Plus their appetites can be a bit much...

Re: WHAT IS THIS GROWING ON MY SEA FAN?

:smt017 mine grow over lava rock. I guess they are everywhere. Hair algae is normal in opae tank I suppose. I would wash the sea fan, dry it under the sun and put it right back because I think it's branch is a beauty. I'm not sure if this algae is growing due to different type of light spectrum, I'm...

Re: My opae berried, she dropped? Or....what's this?

Hi Varanus , I think I'm gonna just conclude that those floating orange and black dots are indeed dead eggs . I don't think anybody can confirm it because no one would bother keep looking at water surface for something unless it moves. So opae dead eggs do float to the surface like human dead body ...

Wow, you've got a big tank. 2 is too little, I would put 10 opae in there because chances you will have both sexes.

Re: My opae berried, she dropped? Or....what's this?

I'm afraid I have no idea, its just not detailed enough. Can you discern any features from it at all? Thank you Varanus for reply. :smt017 it's just round orange dot, no tail. It's not moving already, I saw a few more but they are black dots. I'm thinking these might just be the dead eggs. Hoping s...

Re: My opae berried, she dropped? Or....what's this?

Sorry guys to bother you all again. I converted it to gif . Can I know what's this? It does not have any tail dangling upside down. It moves up and down, sometimes stay still at chaeto . Does dead eggs from opae float? Has anyone face something similar? I have look around, I only saw one. What's goi...
