Re: Feeding Discovery
I've read that if you you see any shrimp BERRIED you should stop feeding until all the larvae are free. If you feed, they will fight for the food, causing about 90% of the shrimp dropping the eggs/larvae before time.

OMG I really envy you!!! Those shrimp look red and beautiful, I've had my aquarium for a little bit less but no one has reproduced, hope they will soon.

Re: Is my shrimp finally saddled?
Sorry but nope.
If it was indeed saddled you'd see red balls in the rear part where small legs they use to swim.

Re: Setting up brackish tank?
1. Buy reef salt (not aquarium or table salt). Per example instant reef. 2. Put approximately 15 grams per liter of reef salt 3. Add an aragonite or crushed coral substrate 4. Add rocks (i personally prefer reef rocks). DO NOT ADD ANY KIND OF ROCKS ASK IN THE FORUM BEFORE IF IT CAN BE ADDED! 5. Add ...

Re: Update on my morimo moss ball in brackish
Hi Joan. What kind of lighting do you have? I have an LED I bought from Amazon. It's a Nicrew LED white and blue. My water was 1.012 when I started. My guess is the growth had more to do with the light than the salinity. I have a 7W 570 lumens led light in a 1.65 G/7 L aquarium with 1.008 SG/11 ppt...

Re: Macro Algae turning white
Oooooh OK. Thanks!
Does this also mean that crushed coral as substrate would do to "buffer" the water?

Stressed shrimp?
Hi, these days I’ve dona a couple of water chAnges to get the salinity down to 1.008 (to try to get my nerites to breed) and I noticed that during a few hours the shrimp got the reddest that I had ever seen them. Usually, a half of them are transparent (about 5) and the rest are pink-transparent (ab...

Planted tank?!
Hi everyone, I'm thinking on upgrading my 1.65 gallon minimalistic opae ula bowl setup (just white sand and a big rock with live snails) to a more decent 5 gallon one. I'm thinking on changing the salinity from 1.013 SG (17 ppt) to about 1.008 SG (11 ppt), changing the white sand to black sand and p...
