I have a tank upstairs with 9 larvae in it right now, and on warmer days it will stay at a temperature in the low 80's, up to 84 or 85. I'll have to see how well the new shrimplets survive once they are formed. My past experience suggests a significant percentage of baby shrimp don't survive anyway.

If you get 10 shrimp, the probability is only 1 in 1024 that they're all the same gender.

For 15 shrimp, it's 1 in 32,768

For 20, it's 1 in 1,048,576

So how many you should get depends on how lucky you feel!

When the mossballs float it's because of the amount of light they are getting. When I see mine float I cut back on the light exposure and it (they) soon drop. It doesn't mean there was too much light, but I just like seeing the mossballs on the substrate.
