Re: Breeding issue, diagnosis appreciated!

I got this strong feeling that something went wrong. Shrimps are tolerating, not thriving. I just don’t know what that is. I appreciate more diagnosis thanks every one!

Breeding issue

Hello everyone. My set-up looks like this, 20 gallon water. salinity 1.010, coral crushes on the bottom as substrates, lava rocks boiled before placement, supershrimp moss ball and algae in position, 60 shrimps. Temperature 15-30 degrees celsius in my region. Dedicated 16 Watt lights turnning on and...

Re: My Opae Ula are dying for an unknown reason

I would recommend you to postpone your ideas for the moment. Your shrimps need time to relax and get used to the new environment, as they are just recovering from the previous shock. From my 3 years experience keeping these creatures, they don’t react well to drastic changes to their environment. As...

Re: New journey and questions

Thank you guys very much. I don’t remember where exactly I saw people using this substrate, it could be here or youtube, I somehow thought this is OK, but I promise I saw more than once and there are super shrimps in it, not fresh water shrimps. I have never kept any aquarium animals other than the ...

Re: New journey and questions

Thank you, is there anything I can do now other than replacing substrate? I mean the soil can’t reduce pH forever right? If I replace enough water its pH will eventually become higher right? Or is there a better solution? One more died today and I panicked.

Re: New journey and questions

thank you for the replies guys. Yes this is soil for aquarium plants, but I have seen quite many people using this type of soil for their tanks here and there in this forum, so I figured it is OK anyway. And even if I want to replace it with sands it is too late now. My 100 shrimp army has arrived a...

Re: New journey and questions

Thanks, I did mix water from old tank to try to introduce some beneficial content, but the old one is too small compared to the new tank, any water from it seems insignificant, I have no idea if this will work but I did it a few times. I even took some pebbles covered with algae from old tank to add...

Re: New Journey and questions

Thank you Jess, These shrimps are way too inactive to be normal. When my shrimps in smaller tanks are well fed(I assume), they still swim and play around, they would never stay in one place for more than five minutes. I can't really see clearly if they are fed or not, in fact I can barely see them a...

New journey and questions

Hello Everyone, Sorry for the long post. I started a small tank (0.5 gal or less) two years ago with 10 shrimps, can’t really remember how many problems I ran into along the way but with the help from people and Mustafa of this site I managed to pull through every time. The tank finally settled and ...

Shrimp dropping eggs-normal?

Hi everyone, after years of waiting my shrimp finally started to berry eggs, but it keeps dropping them as day goes by. It now has less than a half of what it had 3 days ago when I found it, about 10 eggs still loosely attached to the mother and they too seem really loose. Dropped eggs can be found ...
