Re: White powder on walls of aquarium?

When I first cycled my tank I got a bad rotten egg smell after some bubbles had ridden up to the surface. I think it was the bacteria decomposing something. After that, it was fine. If you have algae growing you should be good to go.

Re: Hello from Singapore

The shrimp are like cats, if you try to get them to do anything they refuse to do it (like breed) but if you leave them alone they suddenly are great at it.

If you look for the thread, getting a breeding colony established has been a mupltiple year endeavour. These guys do not multiply very quickly compared to most shrimp.

Re: Tiny white floating things?/feeding question

My tank had a sort of bloom of copepods shortly after cycling, they were great, they cleaned all the biofilm off the glass. When i turned off the lights they would rain from the top of the tank into hiding. now they are mostly gone.

Yes, everything is packaged so well and ships so quickly, I am always looking to see if new items are added to the shop to order.

Re: Keeping Blue Leg Hermit Crab with shrimp

I wouldn't do it if you want your shrimp to thrive. Different feeding regime (hermits need a lot more food). I have had some interest in creating a small invertebrate tank that is mostly self sufficient. I know our shrimp are the best but are there any marine species that come close IE minimal wate...

Re: 3 Years - No Berried Shrimp - Any Suggestions?

I have all the plants that Mustafa sells, and snails in addition to my shrimp. I seem to get a bunch of berried shrimp followed by babies shortly after I feed them a little crab cruising once every 3-4 months.

Re: Tiny white creature in tank

I just turned on my light today and there was a ton of tiny white things swimming about. I have never seen them before in my tank. Attached is the best picture I could get. Is this the same thing you saw?

I love reading this thread because it shows that when people ask to put other types of shrimp, crabs, or plants with these guys, mustafa can say, nope, tried that 16 years ago.

I'd also buy the moss ball, it's a little pricey but I think worth the price.

By all accounts from the Forum and from Mustafa his snails don't over populate, they keep my substrate remarkably clean, it might be something you consider.
