Re: What exactly do they eat?

They eat any decaying organics so they can eat dead macroalgae, in the wild the opae ula eat dead bugs that fall in the pools, leaf litter, etc

Re: Samolus valerandi (aka Brookweed) Experiment

I live in the Canary Islands a volcanic archipielago just like Hawai, here are also brackish ponds near the coast, I collected a few stems of Ruppia maritima hoping nothing but they have rooted and grown really good, Some stems are even flowering  (I only have a 5 wat bulb in my tank) Ruppia ...

Re: Samolus valerandi (aka Brookweed) Experiment

Re: Finally! The Opae has come

Cystoseria species didnt grow very well in my tank, the brown macroalgae dont grow at all, I have better results with green macroalgae like Aegagropila linnei, cladophoropsis, ulva sp, etc

Re: My Ecospherians are 21

Have you think to upgrade them to a bigger tank? I think they deserve something bigger since they have live that long and maybe add more shrimps and breed them

Re: Plankton cloud

The tank its running since 4 months now, I only feed the shrimps once in all this time, a tiny pellet that the shrimps and snails eat in few hours. The plankton abundance I think its because I used "live" ocean water directly from the Atlantic and the tank its filled with microfauna. I hav...
