I recently got a 5G tank to upgrade my 1G and I started cycling it a week ago. I grabbed some shells/rocks from my 1G to place in the new tank to help the cycling along.

Yes, I immediately replaced the water. The rocks, etc. were out of water for maybe 15-20 mins tops. Thank you all for the responses, shrimp order placed!
