Re: New journey and questions
Hi! I'm also pretty new at this but if you add some of the calcium carbonate shell/pieces from this website then that should help to buffer the pH and possibly help raise it to a more ideal level. I may be wrong but I would give it a go, along with maybe stacking the lava rocks in all or a couple of ...

Re: How to safely relocate shrimp in ecosphere?
Thank you for the advice! My tank is only 1.1 gallons so how much water would you recommend putting in the bowl from my tank? I think I will try this today but here is a picture of my tank from right as I'm posting this. There are ten individuals in the tank already so I don't want to disturb it too ...

How to safely relocate shrimp in ecosphere?
Hello everyone! I was first introduced to Opae Ula shrimp because of a poorly thought out purchase of four of them within the smallest sized ecosphere available. Since realizing the error of my ways I created a tank and bought ten more shrimp that I just released into the tank. I'd like to get the ...

Awesome! I just let them in the tank after sitting out for about an hour. They went straight to exploring and combing ...

Gotcha! Thank you for your input!Dch48 wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 8:43 am Safestart is made for fresh water and the bacteria in it will most likely be killed by the salinity of your tank. Don't use it.

Three weeks is fine. Introduce the shrimp to their new home and do NOT use the Safestart additive.

Thank you! Would you recommend drip acclimating them beforehand? I was planning on attempting it without the proper equipment, like just taking a tablespoon out and replacing that with the ...

Is my tank ready for the shrimp?
Hello!
I started my tank with a 1.1 gallon tank from amazon, substrate, lava rocks, calcium carbonate (shells), salt, and microalgae all bought here.
I mixed the amount of salt for one gallon into a distilled water gallon bought from the store and once it dissolved completely, added enough to fill ...
