Re: Plant fertilizer in shrimp tanks
Very interesting in knowing more about the lights. I’ve been pumping in as much light as possible without overheating the tanks. Can you please tell me more about this? The seachem flourish product sounds interesting. I was also thinking about adding a tiny bit of spirilina just to add some organic ...

Plant fertilizer in shrimp tanks
Hi, I started a 2.5 gallon tank a few months ago, and I am now working on a 15 gallon. The 2.5 is going fine, but I have never had vigorous algae growth, I am assuming because the shrimp just don’t generate lots of waste. Calcium Carbonate
Hi folks,
I purchased a bunch of stuff today. I’m thinking about making an all black setup aside from algae and shrimp. Can I drop the calcium carbonate in the bottom and cover with gravel, or do the shrimp need access to the calcium carbonate?
Cheers!

Re: How are the shrimp mailed?
Thanks everyone. So what's the deal with these products that are supposed to help establish the bacteria faster? API Quick Start Nitrifying Bacteria, for Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium and/or Dr. Tims products? It seems like one could add some of this (considering the relatively small volume of w...

How are the shrimp mailed?
I am thinking about purchasing all the materials to get started. Can I order the shrimp as well and let them hang out in whatever they are shipped in, or move them to a temporary jar until their permanent home has had time to cycle? Thanks everyone!
