I have counted 10 babies in the montezumae tank, 15 babies in the puer and 20 in the ones housing the cajuns.

Unfortunately all my cajuns reverted to brown.

That is a good suggestion. You can try some bee and/or tiger shrimp as well.

Pedro, how are you so sure that these crayfish are actually C. puer and C. montezumae? Your C. "montezumae" obviously came from Germany, unless you went to Mexico and caught them yourself. The thing about C. montezumae, C. patzcuarensis and C. chapalanus from Germany is that the people wh...

See if you can estimate the number of eggs initially produced compared to the number of eggs that make it all the way through development. I am having good initial success isolating females in floating plastic guppy breeder tanks. My female C. diminutus seem to hold onto more eggs if they are isola...

The pattern on the berried female C. montezumae looks quite similar to C. patzcuarensis, but a different color. Do the montezumae also have another pattern, with stripes on the tail, like the other dwarf species? They have different patterns. This is juts one of around 8 I have. I will try to take ...

To the eye they look very similar. You might need to look at them more closely. I can see differences between them from the top and the pincers. A friend help me identify them using a microscope and one of the keys that Yucca provided.

I think is time for you to get an RO unit if you do now have one. Maybe one with DI so you can have more control with your water and what it has.

It is sad when things like this happen. Hope some of them make it alive and you are able to build your stock back.
