Re: CPO Breeding Problems

I have mine in an alkaline environment(Texas water) and they have the same problems with the eggs.
Mustafa wrote:The issue may be that these guys' ancestors come from a highly alkaline environment and Aquasoil eats up the kh and usually drives the ph under 7 creating an acidic environment.

Re: Mexican Dwarf Orange Crayfish, Cambarellus patzcuarensis

It's a myth. People write lots of things when they have enough free time without researching any of the claims ("I *heard*...."). The wild strain is rarer because everyone wanted to have the orange crays once they came on the market. There is also a very dark strain that was developed fro...

I had no luck with dwarfs until I started using aged tanks with gravel bottoms. Ones with lots of copepods do the best for me. I have no clue about survival rates though. Lots of baby crays will kill each other at molt time, especially if there is population pressure. All tanks are aged...it might ...

Dwarf crays molting problem

Hi there. I have around 4 different species of dwarf crays. I have noticed a lot of pregnant females in the tanks, but the quantity of babies surviving seem small. There are lot of hiding places for the crays. I decided to separate females when pregnant in a breeder trap used for fish. I could see t...

i have a question , do you think all the orange shrimp on the market are the same ?
There is always a possibility that they are more than one shrimp specie.

Whitebanded shrimp

I have gone through the site and read all the information I have found about this shrimp. I was just wondering if anyone(most surely Mustafa) has any pictures of different coloration sof this shrimp. I have managed to get a hold of some whitebanded shrimp from India but their color seem very diverse...

One key for me to lower tha aggression between them is to feed them plenty almost every day. I have managed to have more than 20 in a 22 gallon tank without mayor problems. The tank has moss whic converted in some nice algae mountains that they use for cover. I also put in the tank some pvc tubes as...

This is an old thread, but I wanted to update based on experience of breeding the ones I have from Jason (Fish World Erie). Be sure to get ONLY tank bred, not wild caught. I can maintain at least 30 adults in a 20 gallon tank with upwards of 50 juvies. Once the juvies are 1/4" to 3/8" mov...

Pregnant Orange-Brown

I managed to take these pictures today. The eggs are orange and there are a few black dots which are little crays that already hatched. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a297/milalic/crays/patzcuarensis/orange_brown_preg.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a297/milalic/crays/patzcuarensis/orange_b...
