Beautiful specimens! I just have to ask... how do you get such great pics!? I've been trying to get decent pics of my fish for a looong time and they always turn out so terrible. I have a decent camera, just don't have the technique I guess. Thanks. It takes a very clean tank (both inside and outsi...

Thanks, Craig. I've seen some pictures of the species that you keep and am quite amazed by some of yours myself.

Yup, same species as the first set of pictures. Just finally settled in and picked up their colors.

I actually took a look over at Frank's Aquarium and he has what looks like the same shrimp. It's on the list as Red Dragon Shrimp, a Caridinia sp. from Indonesia.

Hoping to get some offspring soon. Just noticed the male actively courting the female for the last couple of nights. Just waiting for the female to molt to see what happens. :D They've also colored up quite nicely. Male http://i.pbase.com/o4/35/597035/1/55713174.DSC_1928.jpg Female http://i.pbase.co...

Amanos hands down would be the best algae eaters. Cherry reds also do a decent job, but nowhere near what an amano is capable of.

C. patzcuarensis

Got these in the mail yesterday. Package took over a week to get here, but the excellent shipping ensured that they arrived alive. Started eating algae wafers within an hour of being in the tank. http://i.pbase.com/o4/35/597035/1/53842409.DSC_0004.jpg What happened to two of them after introduction....

Currently keeping cherries, Cambarellus shulfertii, that UNID shrimp, amanos, and crystal reds. Just got my shipment of Cambarellus patzcuarensis minutes ago and will be keeping those in similar environments as well.

Tie the moss down to something which will hold it down. I did a similar thing to some branches last night in the crayfish tank (they're hiding right underneath the branches :-D ). Could probably just change the orientation of the object (branches in this case) to face the other way so that you can s...

Also, you can substitute co2 without resorting to yeast or a pressurized system by just using Fluorish Excel. Works really well for smaller tanks.

Without co2 or dosing, your best bet would be java moss and java ferns.

As far as I know, they are supposed to be real. He had them shipped from Germany (we trade PM's on another board) from the same supplier that's sending me some Cambarellus patzcuarense sp. orange (he asked me about requirements for Cambarellus in previous emails since I maintain a population of C. s...

A whole mess of extraneous fishes. Those big large ones in the foreground are Puntius denisonii (aka roselines sharks; they're actually a barb species). They're around 7" or so right now. It's actually the reason why I was over at his place. I brought brought him 8 more (brings his total up to ...
