I always use medium level of salt based on my fish water tank condition's. So, you can also choose to mix medium level of salt in your water tank, then you can add some more salt based on the results.

If the algae are too much in your tank, then you can remove algae partially. Sometimes too much of algae is not making the tank clean and neat.
