My understanding is that with opae ula you don't have to do the traditional cycling process since they're so hardy. Did you rinse your aragonite sand before putting it in? I used aragonite sand for my 9gal tank but had to rinse it quite a bit before I used it in my tank to get rid of the cloudiness. They can turn more clear/pale if they're stressed although some of them are just naturally lighter/pale. Hi! You can put all 13 snails in the tank. The snail population is dependent on the amount of food. As long as you do not overfeed, shrimp will outcompete snails for food, which prevents snails from overpopulating. Just feed the tank every 4-8 weeks, everything will be fine.
